Norman is the inspiring winner of the cycling healthy living challenge. On June 23, about a month before Norman turned 93, his daughter and granddaughters invited him to bike the Hiawatha trail. He had not trained for this ride but due to a healthy lifestyle and previous work in construction, such as hammering nails on a roof top, his core balance was in tact.

The fourteen mile ride was composed of bumps, hills and dark tunnels along the way. The rental bike he rode had old fashioned gears and was very heavy. He made notes that he would practice on and bring his own bike with headlights in the future. While there were some falls and rest stops along the way, Norman got up unscathed and finished strong.

Norman lives healthy and richly blessed. When asked what his secrets were he said, " live a life where your friendliness makes you approachable and get up, go outside and do stuff!"
